ABOUT US

The Five Mountains are aiming at being the leader in the UK within the field of Group Therapy Perpetrator Programme's. To achieve this we have a strong belief and a passion that our programme will be unique, workable and most importantly effective. The Five Mountains will be using a very different approach in how we deliver our programme as we will be using a personal centred approach, using empathy and congruence and absolute positive regard as part of the perpetrator programme. Using this style of therapy gives all individuals the right to be heard and we treat all issues as separate but also with equal importance. To achieve this the Five Mountains is run as a collective by people with experience of counselling and group therapy programme's.

'Domestic Violence is an issue that can and does affect everyone from all walks of life, regardless of background.'

"The Five Mountains are excited in delivering their services. It is a wonderful feeling knowing that a change can and will be made." ('Director' Vivienne Benson)

The Five Mountains strategy for affecting change with perpetrators of Domestic Violence and Abuse involve a 36 week perpetrator programme which will include

All of these are important disciplines to cover, to gain a full understanding for both counsellor and individual to establish why perpetrating Domestic Violence and abuse is taking place.

The Five Mountains pride themselves in employing staff members with the highest professional qualifications this enabling each service to be delivered effectively and Professionally to their clients.

The Five Mountains will not leave any individual in a state of frustration and/or disillusioned or to feel that they will be using a ‘tick box’ programme that would allow any individual to gain a false desired behaviour. The Five Mountains will monitor all progress and this will be done through intensive reporting from the counsellors that are facilitating the group sessions.

The Five Mountains will also be offering a service of Individual Counselling to those that are not ready for group therapy or who require additional one to one counselling. Entering into any group therapy can at first be quite daunting and by offering this service the Five Mountains can work with individuals to help them with their self esteem and confidence before they enter into the programme. The counselling sessions can also be used for self referrals for those who do not wish to enter into the contract of the programme.

In addition to offering the perpetrator programme and individual counselling the Five Mountains will be setting up Community Education Seminars to cover the whole of the South East of England. The Five Mountains will be visiting community halls, schools, colleges and workplaces, facilitating talks on Domestic Violence and Abuse. The education plan will include raising awareness of Domestic Violence and Abuse not only with family members but within the whole community. By encouraging and empowering the community to report incidences of Abuse, to encourage and educate a ‘zero tolerance’ attitude towards Domestic Violence and Abuse.

The Five Mountains Work Focused Counselling and Supervision service will be offered to all individuals that work in the South East and South West of England. Organisational issues are often embedded which can lead to long term effects such as stress, anxiety, depression and miscommunication. These are issues that are often only noticeable when there seems to be a list of long term issues such as sickness, individual conflicts, feeling isolated, lacking confidence and self esteem and therefore people are less proactively engaged and productive, these deeper issues are often difficult to address. The intervention therefore is designed to address these issues.
