SAFETY WORKER SUPPORT SERVICE

The Five Mountains Safety Workers offer support to all (ex-)partners of the perpetrators that use the Five Mountains Programme or any of their other services.

The Five Mountains priority is to keep the (Ex) partners safe, by offering support and advise If the perpetrator is attending the Five Mountains Programme.

Safety workers hold a very important role in actively working with the victims whilst the perpetrators are attending the group therapy sessions.The safety Worker will promote strategies for partners in how to safeguard themselves and their children by educating the partners in "how to keep safe within a Domestic Violence situation". Some of the topics covered are:

• Educating the partners about the dynamics of the Five Mountains programme and what is expected of the perpetrators but will advise that there is a possibility that the perpetrator might not change their behaviour. To also advise that the Five Mountains will be unable to disclose individual performances due to confidentiality laws.
• Too help with a safety plan
• To give full support to partners in all their needs and requirements and can include making referrals to outside agencies for extra support if needed.
• Safety work for the children within the home.
• A continuation of support for partners after the programme.
